"Architecture is Frozen Music" - Frank Zappa
What Mr. Zappa is saying is that architecture is a form of art, and can be compared to music that has been frozen in time and space. Many of my clients have heard me say that "Architecture is sculpture on a grand scale". On this Mr. Zappa and I can agree - that Architecture is a form of art. Architecture shapes our senses from birth. Good architecture has been proven to enhance a students learning skills, to improve a workers productivity, and help people heal quickly.
So, what is your style? Classic? Classic Rock? Smooth Jazz? Heavy Metal? All these styles of music evoke an architectural image to me. Let me help you find the style that is right for you!
I like to call this home "Mid Century Revisited". Located high on a hill overlooking Bellingham Bay, this home is located in a neighborhood of predominantly Mid Century Modern homes. My clients wanted MCM as a style, so I took inspiration from the many homes in the area, but added Twenty First Century innovations, like super insulation, rain screen walls, triple pane windows, fiber cement siding, heat pumps, and many more. While decidedly "new", I believe the home blends well with the neighborhood. Photos by Chris DiNottia.
